From the moment I discovered ChatGPT, I saw an opportunity. I knew AI could be useful, but I didn’t realize just how much it would transform my creative process, workflow, and business strategy. What started as an experiment quickly became a game-changer—helping me brainstorm new ideas, streamline workflows, and develop creative strategies faster than ever before.
At first, I thought AI was only for generative art—creating digital paintings from text prompts, replicating styles, or making surreal images. And while I found the technology fascinating, I initially questioned how it could fit into my hands-on creative practice.
I’m an artist who thrives on experimentation, mark-making, layering, and organic discovery. The process of physically interacting with materials—whether it's ink, pigment, or collage—has always been a vital part of my work. The idea of typing in a prompt and having AI generate an image felt like a disconnect from the tactile experience of creating.
But when tools like ChatGPT, Canva Magic Write, and Dream Lab came along, my perspective changed. For the first time, I saw how AI could be used for more than just image generation—it could assist with brainstorming, creative writing, idea development, and structuring projects. Instead of replacing creativity, these tools were enhancing it, helping me think in new ways, organize my ideas, and develop projects faster.
🚀 What if AI wasn’t a “threat” to creativity, but a collaborator?
🚀 What if it could help artists generate unexpected ideas, refine project structures, and push creative boundaries—without ever touching the final artwork?
That’s when I realized that AI isn’t just about producing finished pieces—it’s about expanding the creative process itself.
This is the first post in a new series where I’ll explore how AI can elevate your creative workflow, idea generation, and artistic exploration. I won’t be showing you how to create AI-generated paintings, but rather how to use AI as a creative thinking partner to enhance the work you’re already making.
🎨 Common Misconceptions About AI & Art
Many artists have mixed feelings about AI, and I get it. There are real concerns about originality, ethics, and creativity. Let’s talk about the most common objections I hear—and how we can shift our perspective.
✅ Reframe It:AI doesn’t create with emotion, intuition, or personal experiences—only artists do.
✅ Reframe It:Using AI isn’t about skipping steps; it’s about working smarter, not harder.
✅ Reframe It:AI doesn’t generate ideas out of thin air—it responds to the artist’s input and vision.
There’s a lot of controversy around AI-generated art, and I understand why. Some artists fear that AI is replacing original work, but here’s the thing: AI is only as creative as the person guiding it.

I’ve experimented with AI generative art, but not in the way you might think. I don’t use it to replace my own artistic practice or to sell AI-generated pieces as my own. Instead, I use it as a jumpstart for research and creative exploration—just like an artist might scroll through Instagram, flip through an art book, or browse Pinterest for inspiration.
🔹 AI can be used to generate unexpected compositions—offering a fresh perspective on how elements interact.
🔹 It can suggest new approaches to mark-making, texture, or color palettes.
🔹 It allows for rapid brainstorming—helping me test out ideas before committing to a final concept.
🛠 I’ve also experimented with using AI-generated graphics in product design. Not as a way to replace my artistic style, but as a tool to explore new visual elements. Much like a designer might use digital brushes or filters, AI can be another creative resource for generating textures, motifs, or layouts that I refine and integrate into my final designs.
🚀 The key takeaway: AI-generated art isn’t inherently bad—it’s how you use it that matters. If used intentionally, it can serve as an incredible tool to jumpstart new ideas, challenge your creative boundaries, and refine artistic concepts.

Maybe you’ve already experimented with AI, or maybe you’re still unsure where it fits into your creative practice. Either way, I encourage you to approach this simple challenge with fresh eyes. The way we interact with AI shapes what we get from it—so let’s explore how it can support your creative process in new ways.
📌 Step 1: Choose a Creative Challenge You Struggle With
Think about an area where you sometimes get stuck in your creative process. It could be:
📌 Step 2: Ask AI for Help
Go to ChatGPT (or any AI tool you prefer) and try one of these prompts:
✅ "I’m working on a new creative project inspired by [insert theme]. What are five unique ways I could develop this theme into a full collection?"
✅ "Suggest five unexpected color palettes inspired by [insert concept]."
✅ "Help me write a short artist statement about a body of work that focuses on [insert artistic theme]."
📌 Step 3: Reflect on the Results
Want even better, more tailored AI-generated ideas? Try this:
✅ Give AI a persona to take on
(Example: “Act as a creative director guiding me through this process.”)
✅ Ask AI to clarify your needs before responding
(Example: “Before answering, ask me any clarifying questions that will help you give the most relevant response.”)
